I am passionate about creating solutions that utilize the latest technologies to deliver a top user experience. Since beginning my career I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, using several different technologies. As such I can build a solution specific to the business needs of my clients, that solves problems and adds genuine value.
Greg was not only easy to work with, but his communication and integrity was also excellent. He met every deadline, and offered some sound suggestions that added to the quality of each of our projects. Because of this we were able to complete a project that generally takes six weeks in only four weeks.- Carl Ball, Front End Developer Print Logic
Greg, was a diligent and thorough developer during his time with MyCSP. Greg took part in a range of projects such as improving data integrity, web development and testing and ensuring new IT solutions were ready for Implementation. Greg constantly went above and beyond his role. He constantly helped other team members on a daily basis in addition to taking on the more challenging projects we faced. He was an essential part of the team and was crucial in enabling us to deliver results to clients in the tight time frames we faced.- Scott McGee, Software Developer - Ardent
Greg takes a great deal of pride in what he does and works very hard to achieve the exact results the organisation is looking for. He is dedicated responsible and has never missed a deadline for our organisation.- Nick Heath, IT Manager - Tapiit LTD
A Learning management system created for cadets in the maritime industry. The LMS provided several modules for cadets to complete throughout the 6 phases of their cadetship, each of these modules was designed to help prepare cadets for their careers. Modules were provided in a Livestream video conference format allowing interaction between the cadets and module providers.
Once attendance confirmation of a module the cadet can provide feedback for the module upon submitting this feedback the module is completed and the cadet is provided with a certificate confirming the completion of the module. As well as the ability to manage modules Cadets can view resources for modules and any certificates they have.
This project also involved the creation of a portal for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, where they could view data regarding Cadet's and statistics based on the feedback provided from Cadets.
Administration of the portal was handled via the creation of a backend system allowing admin staff to manage all aspects of the LMS including; phase, modules, resources, certificates, module attendance etc.
The Tapiit Academy website, created to provide online Livestream/On-Demand training for the maritime industry. Maritime training is extremely specialised and therefore in many cases only available in certain locations, High-quality classroom-based training incurs high tangible costs of travel and accommodation. Those costs can sometimes make up to 80% of that training budget, while seafarers and maritime professionals waste their valuable time during their leave in order to attend the training. The Tapiit live site was designed to eliminate any tangible costs, such as travel and accommodation while providing an opportunity to train more people and enjoy the benefits of time and cost-efficiency.
www.tapiit.comThe crew matters app provides structured social activities and welfare support for seafarers, through Tapiit’s live and interactive studio streamed sessions with a full month’s agenda of physical and mental wellbeing classes and educational trainings, including fitness and yoga sessions. Seafarers can also log in their work and rest hours, and if they feel stressed or unwell there is a live SOS Welfare@Sea function which provides immediate access to the Seafarers Help Live Chat, which is free, confidential and available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. In addition, the APP connects with global seafarer charity Stella Maris and enables seafarers to find contact details for the organisation’s chaplains in 54 countries around the world, with functionality to connect and make appointments pre-arrival, providing links to local port services and marine traffic to track voyage progress.
The crew matters also tackles the problem of storing seafarer documentation in one place with reminder settings for crew endorsements and certificate expiry dates. It provides a link to trade union Nautilus, with details of membership, news, careers and tax advice, training opportunities, as well as containing a wealth of information from the IOM ship registry including the master’s handbook, shipping notices, IOMSR news feeds and contact details.
I was responsible for the backend engineering of this project, collaborating closely with the mobile develeoper in order to expose API endpoints to be utilized by the app.
